Artiyom Genin spent nine years working as a mechanic before he decided it was time to work for himself. When it came to naming the new business, the inspiration was sitting right next to him the whole time, his Labrador. LAB Tire Services was born, and Artiyom tells the story with a laugh every time.
“Nine years working for someone else taught me exactly how I wanted to do things differently,” Artiyom says. “When I finally went out on my own, naming it after my Lab just felt right. She was there for all of it, so it only made sense.”
What LAB Tire Services actually does is refreshingly simple. Artiyom comes to you. A flat tire, a seasonal changeover, a full new set for the truck, it does not matter, he loads up the equipment and shows up wherever your vehicle is, at home, at work or on the side of the road, anywhere across Spruce Grove, Edmonton, Stony Plain, Parkland County and the surrounding area. “I got tired of watching people burn half a day sitting in a waiting room for a job that takes twenty minutes,” Artiyom says. “If I can bring the shop to your driveway instead, why wouldn't I?”
Ask Artiyom what keeps him doing this work and he does not talk about tires, he talks about trust. “The tire business is a small world,” he says. “People talk to their neighbours, their coworkers, their family. If you do right by one person, a few more show up because of it. That word of mouth is worth more to me than any ad.”

Ask Artiyom what he wants people to know about him, not what he sells but who he is, and it comes down to showing up. He is punctual, he does his best on every job, and if something outside the original plan comes up, he stays open to helping figure it out anyway.
“I want people to know this isn't a side gig,” Artiyom says. “I show up, I do the work right, and if something unexpected comes up on the job, I do not just leave it half done. That is the whole point of doing this myself.”
