🎭 Fringe Festival Closes Out Its Biggest Year Yet

The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival wrapped its 45th edition with a record 825000 visitors, 209 indoor productions selling more than 142000 tickets, and 1.53 million dollars sent back to the artists who made it happen.
More than 550 shows sold out completely this year.
Artist payouts climbed from 1.47 million dollars the year before.
A record year for the festival that started it all in North America.
⛳ Japan's Miyu Yamashita Wins The CPKC Women's Open At Royal Mayfair

Miyu Yamashita led from start to finish at Edmonton's Royal Mayfair Golf Club, tying the LPGA Tour's all time 72 hole scoring record while the tournament raised a record 4.95 million dollars for Alberta heart health.
Vancouver's Anna Huang finished as the top Canadian, tied for fourth.
Royal Mayfair has hosted golfers since the course opened in 1922.

💿 Columbia House Record Club Is Closing For Good

Columbia House, the mail order music club that built its name on that famous eleven albums for a penny offer, is shutting down for good on September 15 after 71 years in business.
The club mailed CDs and cassettes to millions of North American households at its peak.
Its closure marks the end of an era for physical music clubs entirely.

🇳🇱 Amsterdam's Mystery Man Lucky Is Still Searching For His Name
Ever wonder what it is like to not know your own name?
A man known only as Lucky, found collapsed on an Amsterdam street in 2023 with no memory of who he is, is still waiting for answers after fingerprints ruled out one lead, a missing Vancouver man last seen in 1994.
Amsterdam police have received more than 500 tips since a video appeal went out.
Investigators believe from his accent he may be American or Canadian.
