Happy Monday Neighbour!!
It is a big Monday, Edmonton. Hockey tonight, a federal election that could reshape Ottawa by morning and news out of the Middle East that hits closer to home than you might think. Buckle up and let's get into it. 💛

🏒 Playoff Hockey is Back at Rogers Place Tonight
The Oilers bring their freshly minted playoff berth home to Rogers Place tonight when the Colorado Avalanche roll into town.
Puck drops at 7:30 PM, the first home game since the Oilers officially locked up their post-season spot on Saturday night
Connor McDavid and crew are riding real momentum after a strong stretch run and a crowd that has been waiting for this moment all season
Rogers Place is going to be loud tonight, this is exactly the kind of hockey Edmonton lives for
Will you be in the building or watching from the couch? Tell us how you are feeling about this team heading into the playoffs.
🧹 Move Your Car, Edmonton's Spring Sweep Starts April 20
Spring road cleaning is one week away and your street parking schedule is about to change.
Starting April 20, residential road cleaning means temporary parking bans on weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM
Vehicles left on the road during cleaning face a $250 fine, no towing, but your car could hold up the whole street
Signs will be posted 24 hours in advance and full schedules will be available online through the city
Which part of your neighbourhood do you think needs the most love this spring?

Canada Could Wake Up With a New Political Reality Tomorrow
Three federal ridings are voting today in byelections that could hand Prime Minister Mark Carney the majority government he does not yet officially have.
The Liberals currently hold 171 seats — just one short of the 172 needed for a majority in the 343-seat House of Commons
Two Toronto ridings (University-Rosedale and Scarborough Southwest) are widely expected to go Liberal, with the wild card being Terrebonne, Quebec — a rematch of last year's nail-biting one-vote finish
For Alberta readers, a Liberal majority means Carney can pass his agenda without negotiating support from other parties — including on energy and economic policy that hits close to home
Results start coming in after 8:30 PM ET tonight. Does a Liberal majority change how you feel about the direction Ottawa is heading? Drop your thoughts below.
🏛️ Quebec Has a New Premier, and She Has Her Work Cut Out For Her
Christine Fréchette was chosen as the new leader of Quebec's Coalition Avenir Québec on Sunday and is being sworn in as premier today.
Fréchette beat her only rival, Bernard Drainville, with nearly 58% of the vote at the CAQ convention in Drummondville
She becomes just the second woman to serve as Quebec premier, following Parti Québécois leader Pauline Marois
The new premier faces a steep climb, the CAQ trails badly behind the Parti Québécois and Liberals with a provincial election scheduled for October
Can a fresh face turn around a struggling party this close to an election? It is going to be a fascinating few months to watch.

Oil Just Crossed $100 Again, and It Directly Affects Your Gas Bill
The U.S. military began blockading all Iranian ports this morning, sending oil prices surging and raising serious questions about what comes next for global energy, and for Alberta.
U.S. Central Command launched the blockade at 10 AM ET today after peace talks in Islamabad collapsed Sunday with no deal reached between the U.S. and Iran
Oil climbed above $100 a barrel, up 8%, as markets reacted, energy experts warn prices could stay elevated well into the end of 2026 even after the conflict ends
Iran's Revolutionary Guard has warned that any military vessel approaching the Strait of Hormuz will be treated as a ceasefire violation and dealt with severely, while the fragile two-week truce technically holds until April 22
With oil back above $100, how are you feeling it at the pump right now?

🗳️ THIS OR THAT
Now that Edmonton is shaking off the frost, we need to know where you stand on the most important springtime question of all.
THIS: You are the first one on a patio the moment the sun comes out, jacket optional, cold drink mandatory.
OR THAT: You are waiting until it genuinely feels like spring before committing to outdoor dining. Give you a real warm day first.
Drop your answer in the comments, patio warrior or patient waiter? ☀️
